Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once we process your request, your photos, scans, skin profile, chat history, journal entries, and all other personal data will be removed from our systems within 30 days.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (fastest)
The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the Lumière app:
- Open Lumière and sign in
- Tap Profile on the bottom navigation bar
- Tap Privacy & Data
- Scroll to Danger Zone and tap Delete My Account
- Type

Your account and all associated data are deleted immediately when you confirm. Firebase authentication records are removed within minutes; database records are cascaded across 28 tables; encrypted photos in S3 are wiped within 30 days per our retention policy.
Option 2 — Email request
If you can't access the app or prefer to handle this by email, send a deletion request to:
Please include in your email:
- The email address associated with your Lumière account
- A clear statement that you want to delete your account
- (Optional) The reason for your request — this helps us improve the app, but is not required
We'll verify the request comes from the account email, then process the deletion within 7 business days. You'll get a confirmation email when it's complete.
What gets deleted?
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your account credentials (Firebase auth record)
- Your skin profile (skin type, concerns, lifestyle, demographics)
- All face scan photos and AI analysis results
- Progress photos and journal entries
- AI chat history
- Routine completions and reminders
- Community posts, comments, likes, bookmarks, and reports you've submitted
- Skin Twin connections, messages, and shared items
- Push notification subscriptions and preferences
- Product reviews and wishlist items
- Referral codes and rewards
What we keep (and why)
A small amount of data may be retained even after account deletion, only where legally required:
- Payment records — Tax and financial regulations require us to retain transaction records for up to 7 years. These are stored separately and cannot be linked back to you for any other purpose.
- Aggregated analytics — Anonymised, aggregated metrics that cannot identify you (e.g., "1,234 users completed a scan in March") may be retained indefinitely for service improvement.
If you change your mind
Once your account is deleted it cannot be restored. You're welcome to create a new account at any time, but it will start fresh — no previous scans, journal entries, or community activity carry over.
