lumiereskin0f-20), an affiliate advertising
program designed to provide a means for sites and apps to
earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com. When you
tap a product link in the app and make a qualifying
purchase, we may earn a small commission — at no
extra cost to you.
The commission never influences which products we recommend. Product matching is computed from your skin profile, scan results, ingredient compatibility, and local climate — the algorithm has no visibility into commission rates. FTC disclosure rules require us to be honest with you, and we take that as a floor, not a ceiling.
What this means today
When Lumière recommends a product, the "Shop" link takes you to the product's page on a third-party retailer (typically Amazon) with our Associates tag attached. If you complete a qualifying purchase, Amazon pays us a small advertising fee. The price you pay is identical either way. The recommendation engine is independent of any commercial relationship — we recommend what we believe will work for your skin, and the affiliate fee never enters the ranking.
How Lumière is funded
Lumière sustains itself two ways: the optional Lumière Pro subscription, and small affiliate commissions on qualifying purchases. Both are designed to keep our incentives aligned with you — we get paid when the app is useful enough that you subscribe, or when a recommendation is good enough that you buy it. Brands cannot pay us for placement, and commission rates play no role in what we recommend.

What we still want to be transparent about
- You see a product recommendation in the app. The recommendation is based on your skin profile, scan results, concerns, ingredient compatibility, and weather context — never on commission rates.
- If you tap "Shop", you are directed to a third-party retailer (Amazon, brand site, etc.). That retailer's privacy policy and cookie behaviour apply once you arrive.
- You pay nothing extra. The price you see is the price the retailer charges. Lumière does not mark up, inflate, or alter pricing.
- You are never required to purchase anything. Every recommendation is optional, and you can ignore them indefinitely without losing access to anything.
Our commitments
We take the trust you place in our recommendations seriously. Here is what you can count on:
- Commercial relationships do not affect AI scoring. Our skin analysis, health scores, and product match scores are calculated by an algorithm that does not see any commercial signal — not commission rates, not partnerships, not paid placements. The matching engine uses skin type, concerns, ingredient compatibility, allergies, weather, season, and scan-derived condition markers — and nothing else.
- We recommend products we believe will work for you. If a less-popular product is the best match for your skin, we will recommend it over a household-name alternative.
- You are never required to purchase anything. Every recommendation is optional, and ignoring all of them does not gate any feature in the app.
- We disclose changes here, before they go live. If we ever switch on affiliate commissions, change retailers, or add a different commercial relationship, this page is updated before any user-facing change happens in the app.
- We do not accept paid placements. Brands cannot pay to be ranked higher in your recommendations. Ever.

Cookies from affiliate links
When you tap an affiliate link, the destination retailer (Amazon or other) may set a tracking cookie in your browser for the purpose of attributing your purchase to Lumière. These cookies are set by the retailer, governed by their privacy policy, and are not under Lumière's control.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you prefer. Doing so may prevent Lumière from earning commission on your purchase, but it will not affect your ability to use the Service or buy the product.
FTC compliance
This disclosure complies with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising" (16 CFR Part 255), which require clear and conspicuous disclosure of material connections between an endorser and a seller.
